Irrational Fears

This week I’m joining in on the Fresh Face Friday bloghop link-up with We Took The Road Less Traveled, and the two lovely co-hosts Slightly Astray and A Tale of Wanderlust. This week’s topic is “3 irrational fears.” I could probably go on for quite a while with these… but I stuck to the top three that are the strongest. I’d love to hear yours as well so I don’t feel quite so crazy!

Bugs in My Bed
I really do not like any kinds of creepy crawlers. During the day when I can see them and get rid of them, it’s manageable. But I cannot tell you how many times I’ve had nightmares about giant spiders crawling around my bed or bees buzzing all around me. The spiders may have come from a more recent incident when I looked down in the shower to see a MASSIVE spider crawling around. And I’ve seen a few similar little guys crawling around my living room too… I sure hope these critters find a new home for the winter!

Large Bodies of Water at Night
I cannot stand night swimming. Pools are bad enough, but big lakes or even oceans in the pitch black darkness of the night freak me out. The deep black waters dropping down into the unknown make me want to stay far away until the sun rises.

Being Unorganized
This one is manageable when I am at home and I have control over the organization of everything. But when it comes to travel, this can be difficult. Having a mess of clothes rolled around in my luggage drives me crazy! I’ve gotten better about this since I first started traveling, but it is definitely still there as a fear of mine when embarking on a new journey.

What are some of your irrational fears? Don’t leave me hanging… We’ve all got them!

I can totally relate to your fear of water at night. I actually have a weird fear of deep water during the day as well, and when it’s dark no way! However, I like to challenge my irrational fears so now that I have realized water at night is a fear of mine too, maybe I will try going in, just once..

That’s the spirit! Best way to get over your fears is to face them! 🙂

Bugs in the bed…yes! That’s a scary one. The thought of bed bugs totally skeeves me out, and they’re all over the place these days it seems! Spiders are awful, too. Blech.

Thanks for linking up your post, girl!! 🙂
