Zambia

Can you believe 2014 is already coming to an end?! This year really flew by. One year ago I was preparing to depart for my volunteer program in Livingstone, Zambia. December 2013 marked my first Christmas away from home, making it an extra special holiday season! Something about doing the same thing every Christmas really struck me. Sure, it’s important to spend time with family...

A few months ago I returned from Zambia on a volunteer teaching program. I went there to teach kids in the community. But I came back home with the discovery that not only did I teach them, but they taught me. Many of us are so concerned about having the newest car, the latest technology, or the biggest house. Merry Christmas from Africa! Another day, but it sure did not feel much like Christmas. It was a beautiful day outside and we spent all morning laying by the pool. I even got a nice crispy Christmas sunburn. Never thought I would get to say that!   After relaxing for a while all the African Impact staff and volunteers headed out to Christmas lunch together. Although...

The crew came to class with us and did their own lessons about art and Greece that the kids absolutely loved. At the end of Holiday Club the kids got a special...
