You may remember me posting about my training for the first 10K I ran in summer 2013. Since then, working out in the morning has become a part of me. How do I do it?
Get in a routine
This is critical to making those trips to the gym regular. When working out at the same time every day becomes a normal activity for you, it will be a lot easier to get your fitness on. Hint: Try using Pact App. I use it myself, and it is a great way to keep you motivated and even earn some money for sticking to your goal!
Have everything ready before you go to bed
I always set out my gym clothes and have my bag packed and ready to go the night before hitting the gym. This makes it a lot easier to wake up and get moving when you are sluggish in the morning.
Keep your goals in mind
Always remember what it is that you are working towards. I know that I will regret it later if I don’t get up and go to the gym, so when I force myself to get out of bed I feel a whole lot more refreshed and energized the rest of the day.
Don’t hit snooze!
While it can be temping, avoid hitting the snooze button at all costs! Following the previous 4 steps will help with this. It may sound crazy, but it feels great to have worked out, showered, eaten breakfast, and be ready by 9 am.
Ultimately, you have to find what works for you. Have a great tip or motivator you’d like to share? Leave a comment below!
