As human beings, we are wired to underestimate the impact we can have on the world as an individual. We may feel overwhelmed or unqualified to even attempt to combat major issues like world hunger or poverty. Well, it is time to take control and overcome the “wirings” of our brains. If we can think differently, the greatness we can accomplish is endless. I recently finished reading Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think by Peter H. Diamandis and Steven Kotler. I highly recommend that every single person on planet earth take the time to read this book. Our future may depend on it. Changing the world may seem like an insurmountable challenge, but it is very, very possible. And it begins simply with our thoughts and mindset.
“One of the most important points made throughout this book is that our perspective shapes our reality. The best way to predict the future is to create it yourself.”
This book really puts things in perspective and no matter what you currently think about where our world is heading, it is worth the read. I will admit, around the middle of the book it gets pretty technical and can be tough to read depending on your experience. But I highly suggest sticking it out to the end to really be able to grasp the entirety of what we are all capable of doing on earth if we all work together.
I would love to hear any thoughts on the book if you have read it or are planning to (which you should if you have not already) and join the global optimists in the creation of abundance for our planet.
“So if we’re serious about creating an age of abundance, then we’re going to have to learn to think differently, think young, roll the dice, and perhaps most importantly, get comfortable with failure.”
Little Matters,
Marissa
